Underwater data acquisition system and desktop data presentation system for Correlation Current Profiling & Sediment Concentration.
Development of an instrument capable of determining high resolution velocity profiles close to the sea or river bed (lowest 2 meters), utilising an acoustic method based on the correlation of acoustic reflections. Besides a very detailed current profile, information about the morphology of the seabed and suspended matter concentrations in the water column can be obtained. Current velocity and suspended matter concentrations together give an indication about the sediment transport.
