I was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on February 29, 1968. I then lived for 18 years in the western parts of the Netherlands in the cities of Rotterdam and Ridderkerk. At the start of my university study I moved to Eindhoven and in 1992 I received my master's degree in electrical engineering from Eindhoven Technical University. In 1990 I started working at TNO in Delft and this is also the city I have been living in since 1991. During my work at TNO I was involved in a project for the Boeing Company and that's why I have been living in Seattle, WA (USA) from August 1999 till October 2000. Since 2008 I also live part of the week in Amersfoort, since this is the place where my girl friend is living.
